Sadie Woloson

Larvae and Microalgae Specialist

Sadie Woloson is the Larvae Culture Specialist at the National Aplysia Resource at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science at the University of Miami. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Science from Stony Brook University and an associate’s degree in Environmental Studies from Finger Lakes Community College. In her current role, she oversees larval culture and production to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of animals.

With a diverse background in marine science, Sadie has extensive experience in animal husbandry, marine mammal and sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation, environmental education, community outreach, and environmental consulting. Her research interests include marine animal behavior and physiology, toxicology, and general marine ecological studies.

Sadie finds her work deeply rewarding, as it contributes both to advances in human health research and to marine conservation. She is passionate about advancing marine science through research and education. Outside the lab, she enjoys exploring local beaches, volunteering, visiting nearby national parks, and trying different food spots throughout Miami
